Through
the decade of the 1990s, the New Jersey
Devils finished with the second best winning
percentage of all the teams in the National
Hockey League. They also won their first
Stanley Cup (1995), and finished atop
the Atlantic Division for three-straight
seasons.
The Devils didn't finish atop the Atlantic
in 1999-2000, but they started off the
new century right by winning the 2000
Stanley Cup in six games against the Dallas
Stars.
Is another Stanley Cup in the offing
for the team that has called New Jersey
home for 18 seasons now? It would be hard
to bet against the Devils, who have built
their franchise around stability, solid
draft choices and a strong farm team.
